One of my most favorite shoe designers is Jeffrey Campbell. He is known for his crazy and strange(but super cute) platform shoes that you can find on Lady Gaga or basically any other fabulous person. Jeffrey Campbell shoes have gotten hot in this past year. A few months ago you were only able to purchase them online, but today you can find a few styles in your local Nordstrom. I love Jeffrey Campbell shoes because they are unique different than other brand of shoes. One negative factor about Jeffrey Campbells is that they are very pricey. A pair of Litas, which is his best selling shoe style, costs about $160. I personally think they are worth every penny. My goal is to own a pair of Jeffrey Campbells before this year ends!
I think It is ridiculous that only about a quarter of fashion designers end up getting big. It is unfair to those that are very creative and talented to be unknown. Some get lucky, some do not. For example, Jeffrey Campbell was unknown a year ago. Today, people around the world are purchasing his shoes. I wish all designers were able to show everyone their designs and get big.

ReplyDeleteSo I posted a comment earlier today, but of course, with my luck, it didn't post.. So I'm just going to summarize what I said. Basically, I love your style so I love reading your blogs. And it was great to go to that FIDM meeting with you! I ended up joining that online fashion club and now I'm talking with an admissions advisor from FIDM! (Check out my latest blog for details.) So that's pretty much it.. Oh! I almost forgot to mention how I read your last blog too and went on the Free People (I think that was the name?) website and browsed around a little bit and realized that I loved the styles they had! The only problem being that it was a little pricey, otherwise, looks like a totally cute store and if you worked there, I would totally come visit you and shop around! If I knew where any were located and if I money.. haha. Okay, that is all, keep up the great posts!

I love to read you blog because it is light, informative, and fun. I hope that one day, you too, like Jeffrey Campbell can become a big fashion designer, if thats what you want to do of course. I would buy your clothes! :-)
ReplyDeleteI Love the way you go into the details of the shoes and who wears them, it shows your true passion for the designer. I like how you show the postive and negative aspects of him too. The way you talk about him shows your true appreation towards fashion. Your blogs are always so interesting keep it up!
